On-line Games

I prefer an on-line meeting tool called Streamyard for games.  It's similar to Zoom without the need for you to install any software, and I find it's the closest thing to sitting around a table.  I can also run games on Roll20 and a variety of other VTTs.

Public Games

I schedule public games on a regular basis through StartPlaying.  These are a mix of standalone sessions, on-going campaigns, and a 'Western March' style campaign where players drop-in to play as their schedules permit.  Games start at around $18 per session, including the StartPlaying fees.

Private Games

If you and your table have StartPlaying accounts, feel free to send me a message there.  If not, feel free to drop me a line through my contact page.

In Person Games

I make regular appearances at a variety of conventions across the U.S. and Europe.  You can always check my calendar to see where I'm going to be. If you see I'm going to be in your area, please feel free to reach out about my running a game for you and your friends!

Hosted Games

For the ultimate TTRPG experience, please join me in my Victorian parlour in Boston.  Game sessions are atmospheric, immersive, and unforgettable experience of sound, images, props, and more.  Parlour sessions can accommodate up to 8 players and can be anywhere from 4 to 12 hours.  All sessions include light refreshments.  Sessions over 6 hours include a thematic meal.  Games start at around $350 per session; prices are based on number of players and duration.

Games To-Go

I'm based in Boston and New York City, and I'm happy to come to you wherever you are.  We can either play in the privacy of your home or I have relationships with venues and gaming stores all across the country that would be happy to host us.  Games typical start around $25 per player per session, and do not include travel fees or accomodations.

I run character-driven, collaborative games where story, tone, and player choice matter more than “winning.” Expect strong roleplay, clear stakes, and worlds that react intelligently to what you do. I love scenes where characters talk themselves into (or out of) trouble just as much as moments of danger, mystery, or horror.

I use audio and images to set mood, but my games are primarily theater of the mind. Regardless of genre, focus is on imagination, description, and shared experience and creativity rather than grids and tokens. My in-person games are highly immersive, and while we can’t play by candlelight or share thematic food online, I work hard to make virtual play feel as close as possible to sitting around a table together.

“Alex is a great teacher and paints wonderful narrative pictures!!!”

“The best prepared play session I've had this Gencon!”

About Horror Games: I love horror games and I try to treat them with the respect they deserve.  When running horror or adult-themed games, I focus on atmosphere, tension, and emotional stakes rather than shock value. I use safety tools from the start, establish boundaries clearly, and check in as needed so players can engage deeply without being blindsided. Fear comes from uncertainty, consequence, and investment in the characters, not from crossing lines.

I'm well-versed in a wide variety of popular TTRPG systems, but my current favorite are the Cypher System family of games including Old Gods of Appalachia (folk horror), The Magnus Archives (supernatural suspense), and Harrow: The Blighted Plane (high-seas adventure in a unique sci-fi setting).

I am a member of the Monte Cook Games Asset Team and run full-length and demo games for them at conventions and retail stores.  I also GM for Lurking Fears, a consortium of GMs who support a large number of indie game publishers.  Check my calendar to see where I will be next!

“My first con and my first con game. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! [Alex] is a great teacher and an extraordinary storyteller. He has a real passion for the game and his enthusiasm swept me right along!”

— Player, GenCon 2025

“[Dreams & Machines] is a really fun cinematic system and Alex was an absolute pleasure playing with! He was very willing to go with our silly goofiness. ”
